Terms and Conditions
Temple Music and Performing Arts offers year-round, private music lessons in a positive learning environment for students of all ages. As part of our commitment to run a well-organized studio with appropriate business policies. A commitment to developing musical talent involves responsibilities for the teacher, student, and parent (if student is a minor). We look forward to working with you and welcome any questions that pertain to the policies below.
LESSON OPTIONS/ POLICIES
Monthly Tuition: 30-minute weekly lessons are billed at $40/per lesson; 60-minute weekly lessons are billed at $80/per lesson.
30-minute lessons
4-lesson months are billed at $160/month
5-lesson months are billed at $200/month

5-lesson months are billed at $225/month
45-minute lessons
4-lesson months are billed at $240/month
5-lesson months are billed at $300/month

60-minute lessons
4-lesson months are billed at $320/month
5-lesson months are billed at $400/month

Monthly lessons are scheduled for the same day and time every week.
Single Lessons & Audition Preps for non-weekly students: $45/half hour, $90/hour; Instructor Terry Temple $50/half hour, $100/hour.
Tuition is based on the number of billable lessons in a given month. Most months will have 4 billable lessons and clients will be billed $160/$320 for these months. When there are 5 billable lessons within a month, clients will be billed $200/$400 for these months. When a lesson falls on a holiday and the studio is closed, students will not be billed for these days.
Extra/Additional Lessons: Often clients request additional lessons outside of their regular weekly lessons. Temple Music and Performing Arts is happy to accommodate these requests. These lessons can be scheduled calling or emailing the studio and will be billed at the weekly lesson rate. Lessons on days when the studio is officially closed may be scheduled through the instructor only and at their discretion.
Non - Refundable: All lessons (weekly, single or audition prep) are non-refundable.
PAYMENT DUE DATE
For monthly lessons, payment is due prior to the first day of each month for the following month. Credit card payments will be processed the week prior to the beginning of the billable month. For single or audition prep lessons, payment is due at the time of service.
FORM OF PAYMENT
Payment may be made by cash or check payable to Temple Music and Performing Arts. For greater convenience, you may also elect to pay by credit card on a recurring monthly basis by completing a pre-authorization form or directly from your emailed invoice. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express.
TIMELINESS OF PAYMENT
Please make tuition payments on time. Payments that are not received by the due date could result in an immediate delay of lessons until tuition payments are made current.
TIMELINESS OF ARRIVAL
It is imperative that students arrive on time for lessons. Temple Music and Performing Arts schedules lessons back-to-back so there is no time to allow an individual lesson to exceed the agreed-upon lesson time. (For example, if a lesson is scheduled from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m. and the student arrives at 3:10 p.m., the lesson is now reduced by ten minutes.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Monthly tuition reserves your lesson slot and the instructor’s time each week. If lessons are missed or canceled by the student for any reason, tuition will not be refunded or credited. Students must give 24-hours notice by text or email to be eligible for consideration of a courtesy make-up lesson. Instructors will make every effort to reschedule a courtesy make-up lesson within the same month (at the very latest by the 7th of the following month) provided that 24-hour notice of a missed lesson has been given by text or email. However, Temple Music and Performing Arts does not guarantee this. If no agreeable make-up time can be found, the lesson will be forfeited, with no refund or credit given.
LESSONS HELD DURING TECH WEEKS
Prior to this contract year, Temple Music and Performing Arts had offered the complimentary holding of a lesson spot while an actor was in rehearsals at one of the area theaters. Because of the lesson demand we now face and the overwhelming success of our students in landing roles we are unable to extend this courtesy beyond an actor’s tech week (or dress rehearsal week). Our teachers and staff will work with clients to find an alternative time for your lesson during the rehearsal conflict and students will be guaranteed their original lesson time back after their show opens.
SUMMER MONTH COURTESY
During the summer months (June-August) Temple Music & Performing Arts will hold a student's weekly lesson time without tuition for up to four weeks. Any weeks beyond this must be paid for in order to retain weekly lesson time and day.
CANCELLATIONS BY INSTRUCTOR
Lessons canceled by the instructor will be made up within the same month at a time agreeable to the instructor and student. If no agreeable time can be found, lessons will be credited to the next month’s statement.
PERMISSION TO PHOTOGRAPH/VIDEO STUDENT
I authorize Temple Music and Performing Arts to photograph, film, tape or record my child (or myself if I am 18 or over). I understand TMS may choose to use these photographs, films, tapes or recordings for advertising or promotional purposes. By signing this agreement, I give full permission and agree to waive all copyright and future considerations.
SUBSTITUTE INSTRUCTOR
In the rare circumstances that your instructor is unable to attend the lesson (illness, emergency, etc.), a substitute instructor may be available.
TERMINATION OF LESSONS
We look forward to a long-term relationship with you, however, if necessary, termination of this agreement by an adult student (or parent of a minor) may be made in writing with a 30-day notice to the instructor. Notice may be received in writing via email to templemusicstudios@gmail.com
Temple Music and Performing Arts reserves the right to terminate this agreement for reasons including, but not limited to, inappropriate behavior, failure to rehearse as agreed, repeated late payment or other reason as deemed appropriate by the instructor.
